We scan original artwork in the studio on our large-format flatbed. Choose a quick archival capture, a cleaned-up file for screens and commercial print, or a full artwork reproduction.

Artwork reproduction is only available as part of a print order with us. We carefully colour-match the scan file against your original in the studio, then confirm it with an A4 test print before your final prints are made.

A raw scan.

A straight capture off the scanner at high resolution, with no edits. It's our express service, usually ready within one business day and often the same day. Raw files aren't print-ready. They suit people who retouch their own files or only need an archival copy.

02 — Our suggestion

A standard edit scan.

A clean, high-res scan with basic image adjustments, soft-proofed on screen. It's ideal for digital use and for commercial print (books, cards, CMYK printing), where fine-grained colour matching isn't critical.

Might you want fine art prints one day? If so, consider artwork reproduction instead. It covers every use from the start, so you won't need to rescan later.

02 — Our suggestion

An artwork reproduction scan.

Our most thorough service. We scan your original in the studio and colour-match it by eye against the work itself. Then we retouch and set up a master file calibrated for fine art printing. Every reproduction includes an A4 test print for you to approve before we print.

Reproduction is only available as part of a print order. Your scan and prints are handled together as one project. We'll ask about your prints shortly.

Artwork reproduction is part of a print order, not a stand-alone service. Scanning, colour-matching and printing are done together as one project, so we need to know what you'd like printed to quote it.

You don't need to print a whole edition. The minimum order is one A4 print, in addition to the A4 test print included with your scan. We colour-match your file to the original and produce a test print for your approval, then print your final prints.

06 — Timing

If so, when?

Raw scans are usually ready within one business day of drop-off. Standard edits are usually turned around within a week of receiving your artwork and payment. Reproduction and larger jobs take a little longer because of proofing. If you have an exhibition, competition or launch date, tell us here and we'll confirm whether we can meet it.
