Before the print

Print Project Consulting

A 20-minute Project Consultation is free, in the studio or by phone, for talking through a new project, exploring papers or reviewing samples before you commit.

Want hands-on time with your files? An Extended Consultation puts you at a calibrated workstation with us, working through file prep, sizing, borders and colour together, with test prints available on request. Extended consults run by the hour or by the half-day, depending on what you’re working through.

Exhibition Consulting

For exhibitions and larger projects, we’re available to consult on how best to approach it all: sizing, papers, timelines, and how the work will sit in the space. If you’re not sure what you need yet, that’s exactly the right time to talk.

Alongside the print

Digital Imaging

The careful, often invisible work behind a finished print. File preparation, retouching and restoration: getting a file right, bringing a damaged image back, or readying your work for output. Not sure what your file needs? We can talk it through.

Backing Boards

Acid-free backing boards give a print extra support, whether it’s heading to a market stall, a shop or the post. Prints 12 × 18″ and under come in a clear sleeve as standard. Backing boards are an optional extra, available in A5, A4, A3 and A2, as well as 6 × 8″, 8 × 10″, 11 × 14″, 12 × 16″, 16 × 20″ and 18 × 24″.

Edge Deckling

For a softer, handmade finish, we can tear the edges of your print by hand to echo the natural deckle of handmade paper. Deckling works best on 100% cotton papers, and the print is made slightly larger to allow for the torn edge. Smaller orders are deckled at no extra charge, and larger orders are charged by time.

Certificates of Authenticity

A certificate of authenticity can be added to any order, large or small, from a single print to a full edition. If you have your own COA design, we’ll print it for you on an A4 sheet of Hahnemühle Photo Rag 188gsm. If not, you can purchase one of our A6 studio COAs and fill it out by hand.

Exhibition Decals

Full-scale prints for the exhibition space itself, from wall-covering installation pieces to the introductory and contextual text that frames a show. Less precious than a fine art print, made to serve the work around it.

After the print

Packaging & Delivery

Every print leaves properly protected, in rigid mailers or tubes, whatever the piece calls for. Collect your order from the studio, or we’ll get it wherever it needs to go: to your door, nationally or internationally with full tracking, or blind drop-shipped straight to a gallery or buyer with no studio branding on the parcel. Melbourne clients can arrange same-day courier on request.

Packaging Supplies

We stock packaging materials (tubes, flat mailers, protective sleeves and the like) for artists packing and posting their own work. Nothing elaborate, just good-quality supplies when you need them.
