The Studio.
Intentionally small, carefully considered.
Hound & Bone Studio was founded in 2015 by Peter Daniells and Cassie Bone. Combining our backgrounds in visual arts and arts management, we set out to build a fine art printing service that pairs technical excellence with a warm, personable approach, giving every print the same time and care you give your art.
Who we are
Peter is the one at the printers. With a visual arts background and more than fifteen years of fine art printing behind him, he has a sharp eye for detail and an intuitive feel for what artists need from a print.
Cassie looks after everything around the printing: quotes, files, timelines, supplies and bookkeeping. You name it, it’s on her list. A natural organiser, she spent years in events, government and film learning to hold many moving parts at once, and she's a devoted perfectionist about all of them.
There are no hand-offs. The people you talk to are the people printing your work.
What we're about
A decade of running the business our way has shown us that every choice matters, from where we spend our money to how we use our time. We’re intentional about the services and materials we use, ensuring they align with our values, support our community and reflect the kind of studio we want to run.
We print exclusively on Hahnemühle papers with archival pigment inks, and we’re a Hahnemühle Gold Certified Studio. And because a print is only ever as good as what it’s made with, we won’t compromise on materials. To keep our services accessible, we make ordering flexible and look at every job case by case, so you only pay for what your work needs.
We choose to focus on what we do best (and what we love to do), rather than trying to be everything to everyone or a one-stop shop. Instead, we actively champion other skilled craftspeople in complementary fields. From local framers to commercial printers, we’ve built relationships with masters of their trades whom we’re happy to recommend.
Since 2026 we've printed from Nightingale Umarkoo Wayi in Coburg, a building designed around sustainability and community, which suits the way we like to work. A 21.3kWp rooftop solar array and 100% GreenPower run every print, renewable end to end.
Visit
e’re a working studio rather than a shopfront, so we’re not set up for walk-ins. Small surprises can cause big scheduling delays.
Working by appointment isn’t about creating barriers. It’s about making sure your visit is planned, uninterrupted and productive, and that all of our projects stay on track.
Whether you’re dropping off, collecting or talking through a project, booking ahead means we can welcome you properly and give you our full attention.
Questions about a project, or not sure where to start? Send us a message and we’ll come back to you with next steps.
